Asplenium
Asplenium ferns, also known as bird's nest ferns, are tropical plants that prefer warm, humid environments. They are epiphytes, meaning they are nutritionally supported by other plants such as trees.
Preferring medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged periods of direct sunlight as this can cause the leaves to yellow. The Asplenium Fern requires regular watering, particularly in the growing season. It is important to water around the plant, avoiding the centre of the plant as this can cause the plant to rot. Repot when you can see the plant is becoming pot bound. The Asplenium family love humidity and warm temperatures, they are ideal plants for bathrooms and kitchens and of course, terrariums!
Common issues.
If you see crispy leaves browning leaves or wilting leaves this is usually a sign of underwatering.
Mealybug and Scale are the most common issues associated with Asplenium Ferns. Your plant is at risk of fungal disease if the drainage is inadequate, or the soil is compacted.
