Commonly called the Desert Rose, Sabi star, mock azalea and impala lily.  This unusual plant is becoming increasingly popular with houseplant and bonsai enthusiasts, due to the unusual trunk shape and beautiful bell-shaped, showy pink flowers!

The Adenium obesum 'Pink Star' is a succulent plant known for its striking, pink and white flowers.  It features a characteristic plump, swollen trunk called a caudex that stores water, similar to a baobab tree. The Adenium obesum 'Pink Star' is a deciduous, flowering succulent native to the Sahel regions south of the Sahara, tropical and subtropical eastern and southern Africa. These unusual plants have a flowering period from spring to mid-summer.  However, to ensure your Adenium blooms you must provide sufficient nitrogen in the soil mix.  A liquid fertilizer will do the trick.  The Adenium would ideally like 6 hours of sun a day, ensuring you turn the pot occasionally to ensure even blooms. Whilst your Adenium is in full bloom it will appreciate a good soaking a couple of times a week.  These plants like to be warm, so during the winter months they will not appreciate temperatures lower than 15°.
