Commonly named the Chinese Evergreen. Native to tropical Southeast Asia and New Guinea.
This stunning plant has the most attractive, variegated leaves. Predominately white with a green margin and flecks of green, highlighting each narrow, lanceolate shaped leaf. New growth unfurls with varied hues of pink.
The 'Red Zirkon' is a relatively rare plant, becoming more and more popular with houseplant enthusiasts and collectors alike. I can certainly see the attraction!
The Aglaonema is a very easy plant to care for. Tolerant of low light levels, although light does enable those beautiful leaf markings to continue to stand out. Just be careful to avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves. Water when the soil is almost but not completely dry. Never allow your plant to sit in water as this will lead to root rot. Being a native to the Tropical regions of Southeast Asia, this is another humidity loving plant. It will therefore thrive in a bathroom or kitchen, however, the humidity required can be easily managed by simply misting the plant a couple of times of week or placing on a tray of pebbles filled with a few centimetres of water.
