Aloe vera in 8 cm pot

Commonly referred to as Barbados aloe or medicinal aloe.  Native to sub-Saharan Africa.
Aloe vera is a herb with fleshy, succulent leaves and soft spines running along the edges.  As the plant matures the spines get slightly spikier.  The gel from the leaves is often used in cosmetics and medicines but many of us enjoy this easy to care for plant simply for the aesthetics.
 
The aloe vera is very easy to care for.  Preferring bright, indirect light.  Water when the soil is dry and avoid drafts and cold temperatures.
