Commonly referred to as the Lil' Snail Begonia. Begonias originally come from the tropical and sub-tropical moist climates of south and central America, Africa and southern Asia.
The spiral patterns on the leaves of this little plant are stunning. Swirling green and chocolate hues imitating the characteristics of a snail shell. Very striking!
Rex Begonias tend to prefer bright, indirect sunlight and like to be constantly moist. Water thoroughly when the top few inches of the soil feels dry but do not allow the roots to be waterlogged. It is good practice to remove any dead or dying leaves, this will encourage good, healthy air-circulation and therefore avoid any risk of pests or disease. They like at least 50% humidity, so it is a good idea to place in a tray with pebbles and water if not situated in a room with sufficient humidity, like a bathroom or kitchen.
