Commonly named the Peacock Plant.  Native to the South American jungles.  This beautiful specimen is commonly found growing under the canopy of leaves where there is little or no sunlight!

A striking houseplant prized for its decorative leaves.of bright green and dark green splashes and markings which creates a 'peacocks-tail' effect. The underside of the leaves are a reddish-purple color. This plant is a type of prayer plant meaning its leaves fold upwards in the evening, resembling praying hands.

Place your Calathea makoyana in a location with bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot. Use room temperature, distilled, or filtered water to avoid mineral buildup.

Calathea makoyana prefers high humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the plant regularly, using a humidifier, or placing it on a pebble tray.

Maintain a consistent temperature between 18-24°C.
