Commonly named String of Turtles or Trailing Peperomia. Native to the humid forests of Central and South America.
The common name of these delightful trailing plants is so obvious when you look closely at the pattern and shape of the leaf. If kept in the right environment the String of Turtles will reach 50 cm length. Beautiful when seen cascading over the side of a pot or hanging planter.
The Peperomia prostrata is an easy to care for plant. Preferring bright but not direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves. They prefer moist soil but will suffer if the soil is waterlogged, so give them a good drink and then allow the water to completely drain off each time you water. They ideally would like a nice warm, bright, humid spot. When you find their happy place they will not appreciated being moved, they just want to stay put and be admired!
