Philodendron Mamei Rare Tropical Baby Houseplant in 6 cm pot

Commonly referred to as the Blotched Philodendron.  Native to the tropical forests of Ecuador and Peru.

Capable of adapting to a variety of lighting and watering requirements the Philodendron Mamei although rare, is one of the least fussy of the tropical houseplant collective. With large heart shaped leaves of dark green and silvery veining the Philodendron Mamei in its natural habitat will crawl and creep along the rainforest floor, in our homes however a cane or moss pole for support will be required to enable this attractive plant to climb and thrive.

Preferring a warm and humid spot in bright, indirect light but equally happy utilising a shady corner with little light.  A bathroom or kitchen would be ideal for its love of humidity!  

Water when the top of the soil begins to dry, the Philodendron Mamei likes to be consistently moist but will suffer if the roots are allowed to sit in water for prolonged periods.
